Music Facts
- Fiona wrote a lot of songs on the road between the South West and the Midlands on her way to visit family. As her car radio kept getting stolen she sang to herself to make the journey go quicker. After running out of the songs she knew she began to make up some new ones and at six hours there and back every weekend that's a fair few songs - over 200.
- She frequently has no room on her phone to send texts as it's full of bits of new songs she's recorded onto it!
- Fiona recorded Fan Club of One album herself on her computer after teaching herself to play from Beginners Book One. She also did the album artwork and the website and got herself onto iTunes to see if she could do it. From start to finish it took just over a year.
- The CD Fan Club of One came about after Fionas' mum told her she had to do something with her songs as at that time she was her 'fan club of one'. The songs on it are Fi's slower ones as after teaching herself for a year they were the only ones she could change chords fast enough for....she can play a bit faster now :-) and has just started recording the next cd.
- Her songs have been described as across between, folk, country and blues.....and she's been described as a 'female Jack Johnson' - but that's by her friend Jo, who is fab and always says nice things. Chris Barnard says she sounds a bit like Lisa Loeb, her mum thinks she sounds like Dusty Springfield (Fi wishes!)
